Mr. David Hne Erskine is a distinguished educator, administrator, and counselor, serving as the Local Board Chairperson of Education First Academy High School in Harper, Maryland County, Liberia. He holds an impressive academic portfolio, including an Associate Degree in Computer Science from the Liberia College of Technology, a Diploma in Media Studies from Manifold Tutorial College in Accra, Ghana, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from William V. S. Tubman University. Additionally, he earned a Master of Education from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Kampala International University in Uganda, focusing on the psychosocial analysis of substance abuse among undergraduates in southeastern Liberia.
Mr. Erskine is the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services at Tubman University, where he also teaches Counseling and Psychology as an adjunct faculty member in the Colleges of Education and Arts & Sciences. As a professional psychosocial counselor, he supports individuals and groups in overcoming personal, vocational, and educational challenges. With over 12 years of experience in media-related activities, Mr. Erskine is a seasoned journalist and a full member of the Press Union of Liberia.
A dedicated humanitarian, Mr. Erskine has been a member of the Red Cross for over a decade, beginning his service in Ghana and continuing upon his return to Liberia. He previously chaired the local resource mobilization committee for the Maryland Chapter of the Liberia National Red Cross Society and, in October 2024, was elected National Chair on the Resource Development Commission at the society’s 52nd General Assembly. Mr. Erskine brings innovation and commitment to this role, furthering his lifelong dedication to education, community service, and humanitarian development.
The Liberia National Red Cross Society is the single largest national humanitarian organization in Liberia. It is a Voluntary Humanitarian Organization and an auxiliary to the public authorities and the Government, delivering services to the most vulnerable in emergency, including disasters, conflict, civil strife, ill-health and contextual social issues. The Liberian Red Cross is represented in each of the fifteen counties by a chapter and in the districts by a branch, from which we are able to reach regional and remote communities.
