WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY: Today, we received the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia Amb. Clar Marie Weah at our office on the occasion marking World Humanitarian Day. We were excited and honored with her visit. This year World Humanitarian Day focused on women humanitarian and their significant contribution. The First Lady who is a humanitarian also visited our women training Center and inspired the women with her life story. “I want to see all of you shine so that Liberia can rise,” the First Lady told the Women in training. She commended us on the many humanitarian interventions to bring relief and restore hope in vulnerable communities. She extolled the efforts of women humanitarians for the extraordinary passion in enhancing humanitarian interventions around the world.

About Us

The Liberia National Red Cross Society is the single largest national humanitarian organization in Liberia. It is a Voluntary Humanitarian Organization and an auxiliary to the public authorities and the Government, delivering services to the most vulnerable in emergency, including disasters, conflict, civil strife, ill-health and contextual social issues. The Liberian Red Cross is represented in each of the fifteen counties by a chapter and in the districts by a branch, from which we are able to reach regional and remote communities.
